Shared Equity Home Buyer Helper Scheme

The NSW Government Shared Equity Home Buyer Helper Scheme has commenced assessing applications. It allows eligible individuals to purchase a home with as little as 2% deposit.

The NSW Government will pay up to 40% of the purchase price for new homes and 30% of the purchase price for existing homes in exchange for an equivalent ownership share of the property.

The government’s equity proportion can be progressively paid by you. If you sell the property, the government will be paid back their equity proportion. There will be 3,000 places per financial year, open to eligible applicants, who include single parents, single people over 50 and specific key workers such as teachers, nurses, childcare workers and police officers.

Eligible properties in Orange and the Central West are those under $600,000. Any questions? Give Whiteley Ironside & Shillington a call on (02) 6362 1866 to talk to one of our conveyancing experts.
